Considering E-Signatures?

by John Salisbury, President
Captive.com, LLC

In 2000 the Federal Electronic Signature and National Commerce Act went into effect. The Act enables electronic contracts and gives e-signature the same standing as on-paper signatures.

Best’s Review, March 2003 issue has an excellent article on E-Sign. The article reports that only about 5% of U.S. insurers are using digital signatures on a significant level.

PKI is a new acronym that you will undoubtedly learn more about as you consider possible use of e-signatures. PKI stands for Public-Key Infrastructure. Get an overview of e-signatures by reading the March 2003 issue of Best’s Review.
