Mental Health Risk Retention Group --
What Sets Us Apart

Dividends

As a risk retention group, Mental Health Risk Retention Group's profits can incure only to the benefit of the policyholders through dividends, rate stability, or rate reduction.

Specialized Claims Handling

Our claims staff, of necessity, is focused and expert on the unique problems of behavioral health, such as those related to sexual misconduct, suicide and client violence. Their expertise has helped us hold down the cost of claims and we believe it to be the best in the industry.

No Sudden Cancellation

No policyholder has ever had it's insurance cancelled. No organization will ever be cancelled or nonrenewed by us without one full year's notice (except for non-payment of premium). Would any other insurance company make this commitment?

Rate Stability

The Mental Health Risk Retention Group has never increased rates, except to adjust for inflation.

Unique Coverages

Our products are tailored to the needs of behavioral healthcare providers who are our only customers. Coverages are constantly evolving as new areas of exposure become apparent. A few examples:

  • physician coverage included
  • no sexual misconduct exclusion
  • employment practices liability included in D&O liability
  • employees and volunteers included as insureds
  • defense costs in addition to limits

Loss Prevention Program

Our series of videotape and written educational materials to prevent serious losses in complimentary to policyholders. Topics to date include suicide malpractice, sexual misconduct, violent clients and wrongful termination of employees.

Merit Award Program

The Negley Awards are a series of cash grants presented annually to provider organizations who demonstrate excellence in risk management practices.
