KATHRYN A. WESTOVER
Ms. Westover is President of Captive Advisory
Services, an Argonaut Group Company. She provides consulting and
captive program structuring services for insureds and their brokers,
insurers, or reinsurers. She also serves as Barbados International
Business Representative. In this capacity she works with insureds
and their service providers, as well as insurers, reinsurers, banks,
and other financial institutions. She structures enterprise risk
management programs and other alternative risk transfer solutions
that can benefit from the advantages Barbados’ international
financial services sector offers, both for the US, and for businesses
and individuals on a world wide basis.
Ms. Westover has over fifteen years experience in the captive insurance
industry. Before forming Captive Advisory Services, Ms. Westover
was Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Risk Solutions Vermont,
a subsidiary of Strategic Risk Solutions (“SRS”), a
Credit Suisse group company. Prior to that she was President of
American Risk Management, one of the leading captive management
companies in Vermont, now part of AON.
Ms. Westover has a B.A. and M.A. from Oxford University, England.
She earned her CPCU designation in 1991.
Ms. Westover is a former member of the Board of Directors of the
Vermont Captive Insurance Association, served on the Vermont Captive
Advisory Board, and has served as an advisor to the Washington DC
Department of Insurance and Securities. She has taught insurance
courses for the Vermont Insurance Institute at Champlain College,
and is a frequent speaker at a number of industry conferences and
workshops. Her publications include “Direct Aggregate Excess
Liability Policies (Captive Insurance Company Reports, February
1992); “Risk Manager and Reinsurer - a Common Destiny”,
(Captive Insurance Company Reports, June 1992); “Managing
Retention Capacity”, (Captive Insurance Company Reports, July
1995); “Financial Modeling for Risk Managers - Calculating
Risk Management Value Added” (The Risk Financing Newsletter);
Special Purpose Vehicles (The Risk Financing Newsletter). She authored
the chapter on Terrorism Issues for Captive Insurance Companies
in the IRMI publication “Terrorism Insurance: What Risk and
Insurance Professionals Must Know.” Her book “Captives
and the Management of Risk” was published by the International
Risk Management Institute in March 2002.
WAYNE J. FIELDS
Wayne Fields, is an Assurance Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers
in the Eastern Caribbean with over thirty-five years of experience.
Since 1985, Wayne has specialized in the financial services sector
and has responsibility as lead partner for a number of the firm’s
major insurance and banking clients.
Wayne’s knowledge of the regulatory environment has permitted
him to assist clients in the insurance and banking sectors with
their application to the regulators to obtain the appropriate licenses.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants
in the United Kingdom, and a Member of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Barbados.
He has presented several papers at conferences and written articles
on the financial services sector.
