Association of Insurance and Risk Managers.
AIRMIC has a membership of nearly 850 and represents the insurance
buyers for about 75% of the FTSE 100, as well as very substantial
representation in the mid 250 and other smaller companies. AIRMIC
members control about £5 billion annually of insurance premium
spend. A further £2billion of premium spend is allocated to
captive insurance companies within member organisations. Additionally,
members are responsible for the payment of insurance claims from their
company finances to the value of at least £2 billion per year.

ARRC is a membership based coalition of
industry trade associations, Risk Retention/Purchasing Group and Captive
owners, service providers and excess and reinsurance carriers and
intermediaries, and is affiliated with the Self-Insurance Institute
of America (SIIA). AARC was formed in response to the United States
General Accounting Office (GAO) report commissioned by Congress relative
to the Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986. The purpose of ARRC is
to address the issues raised in the GAO report and work with members
of Congress to enhance and strengthen the LRRA. |

The Guernsey Insurance Company Management Association (GICMA) - subsequently renamed The Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA) - was formed in 1983 to represent the combined interests of both Guernsey insurers and Guernsey insurance managers.
The Guernsey insurance industry is dominated by captive insurance, at least in terms of the number of licensed insurers operating from the island. Almost all of these captive insurers are run by licensed insurance managers. |
